Sun Xitai was convicted of forging invoices and significance contracts to evade import duties on 70,000 bottles good CNY45m (US$7.13m) between January 2004 and December 2009, the Beijing Times reported.

Sun altered the name, details and evaluation of high-end wines imported from France, Britain and Hong Kong, stating they were cheap booze, the court said.

It is not clear which wines were imported, although one report said there were pre-eminently a free amounts of Chateau Lafite , Latour and other blue-chip wines.

The account also said Sun imported high-end Nike and Adidas trainers, Oakley sunglasses and other extra goods.

According to the newspaper, the 62-year-old businessman, who ran three Beijing companies, had already served a jail sentence for a separate offence in 2002.

He said at his trial last September that the castigatory tax rate of up to 50% on wine left him no choice but to smuggle.

‘It would be profound to stay in business if I went through official channels,’ he is reported to have said.

Tatsuya Shiga wasn’t shopping for a mend of biography that day, but that’s what he walked out with.

Shiga, an avid golfer and Oakley fan, visited the O Accumulation at Oakley Headquarters in Foothill Ranch, CA, last week in search of some new Oakley sunglasses and a new O icon for the side of his Gascans® . While perusing the market, Shiga’s eye was caught by a tour-sized leather golf bag designed to look like the fictional, Age War II era Flying Tiger aircraft.

“I loved the govern and proposal,” Shiga said. “It’s so one and only, with the shark and the big teeth on the side. It’s very inimitable. Very Oakley.”
