The summary began with a joke. Someone posts a pic of an action figure on a forum and says it looks like Costa. Yeah it was jocose, but that was it…

…until the guys at Black Ops Toys saw it and it a bulb went off. They are a distributor for Caltek Worldwide , the makers of all sorts of highly accurate and collectable figures. They approached Chris Costa with the phantasy of making him into a limited edition 1/6th scale version of The Trainer.

UPDATE : I traced the dawn of the “joke” back to an action figure enthusiasts forum called onesixthwarriors.com where “Cpl Ho” at posted a kitbash of a “MAGPUL DYNAMICS Tactical Carbine Don.” So “kitbashing” –seems it’s a hobby based around sourcing or making dainty clothes and gear to outfit accurate 1/6th action figures making on the mark depictions of existing people or career fields. Cpl Ho made this one from an existing 1/6th grasp that sorta resembled Costa and kitted it out with clothing and equipment to done the look, all the way down to Magpul patches he made himself.
