Alert, Alabama -- If Mobile was rockin’ this weekend, it’s because the Freulein Scouts came knockin’.
More than 600 Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama are in borough through today for the inaugural Girl Scouts Rock Mobile occasion, being held in celebration of the national organization’s centennial.
Daisies, Brownies, Cadettes, Juniors, Seniors and Ambassadors dead beat most of the day Saturday enjoying scavenger hunts and a variety of adventures in and around the Arthur R. Renegade Mobile Convention Center — all tied to the Scouts’ "Forever Rural" initiative.
The hundreds of girls, their moms and troop leaders took eco-cruises on Unfixed Bay aboard the Harbor Lady, enjoyed a variety of learning experiences during an eco-rosy at Cooper Riverside Park and even visited an exhibit dedicated to their conglomerate at the History Museum of Mobile.
Staying with the eco-theme, girls even created recycled accessories and jewelry in one of the Formality Center ballrooms.
