Why do schools ban Paisley Bandanas?

Question: I realize colors like red and blue , but why do they ban all colors. I don't see why its so bad to wear a purple or a lime green Paisley Bandana. I asked the borad about this Q, after a three of e-mails and phone conversations . they diden't speak further more.

Answer: Because if they ban all colors of bandanna, they are making a theme-neutral policy that could withstand any first amendment claims. It also eliminates the point of determining whether or not something is sufficiently blue or red to qualify.
