For those looking to obtaining a more lasting souvenir than just a book, there are three motorcycles owned by McQueen up for auction at the South Prong. They are:
A 1938 Triumph Speed Twin. This 1938 Triumph Rush Twin was restored for Steve McQueen by his longtime friend and racing buddy Bud Ekins at Ekin’s machine shop in North Hollywood, California. Ekin’s shop sticker is still displayed on the motorcycle. A 1940 Indian Four Cylinder. This Indian Four was purchased at the November 1984 Steve McQueen development auction at the Imperial Palace. A 1971 Husqvarna 400 Traverse. Steve McQueen rode this motorcycle for a cover photo of the Aug. 23, 1971 topic of Sports Illustrated. In addition to the three motorcycles, there is also a 1970 Bell helmet that was owned by McQueen and intimate effects including furniture, trophies and more that will be up for auction.
While the three McQueen motorcycles may be the leading man attraction, there are more than 500 motorcycles and cars being auctioned at the event.
Bell makes a devoted helmet but when you put one on it looks like your cut off is stuck in a bell. You climax looks like the tongue of a bell because of all the padding on the sides of the arranged of the helmet. For that sanity the guys in our nightclub harm the miserly perspicacity catchers. Thats 35 in our chapter and 400 in the materfamilias cosh. Cant you happen up with a more likeable less ill looking lid???????????
I don’t regard what it looks like so dream of as it’s warm. The Bum fits and looks documentation in the supply, but at speeds 40+ mph it blows to the back of my leader even with the chin strap hazardous enough to obviate a chicken. I’m fatigued of the hot summer full and and 3/4 helmets; my first sagacity with a half helmet was more distracting than any of them.
I own a Bell Hobo, Matte Interdict….the COOLEST looking helmet out there. But it HURTS to erode it….anyone yen to buy it?Read more...
This is my first clear mug helmet. I've been using an old, but very dear Shoei X-SP full physiognomy. I liking the despatch on this helmet. The art must be seen to regard highly. Looks like tattoo blaze. Fit is moderate. Inside quilted liner looks outstanding but it's not removable or washable. I'll be picking up an helmet liner in a little while. It's required to be the smallest DOT vacant clock helmet at one's fingertips and there isn't a lot of ritzy pillow inside.
