My ramble of the Sherwin-Williams Co.'s headquarters in downtown Cleveland began with a video.

Steve Revnew, immorality president of product innovation, gestured to a seat at a huge boardroom mesa and clicked on a television monitor so I could watch segments about what Sherwin-Williams does.

The cameras captured massive silos of pigment, empty paint cans tilting this way and that like passengers on a calender coaster, and automated machines that slap on labels, fasten lids and interpose wire handles to the side of the cans. Wow -- it made paint manufacturing look hot.

Then Revnew explained that I wouldn't be seeing any of that moderate stuff during my tour. The silos and automated machines are at the company's manufacturing plants in Nevada and other locations across the homeland.

Here, the company makes small batches of paint -- if 100 gallons can be considered insignificant -- to test new formulas and compare Sherwin-Williams products against the struggle.

I require I cared about housework the way I do about yard employment.
