The auto association world is most assuredly not my area of expertise. My vehicle-related skills embody the minimum requirements that I begrudgingly learned from my father when I was in high votaries - how to change a tire, how to check the oil, and when to just give up and call him. Needless to say, when I learned that I would be experiencing a day in the human being of a restoration mechanic, I truly had no inkling of what such a situation would entail.
I imagined a blurry stereotype of a man dressed in blue coveralls, wielding a monkey wrench, and listening to paragon rock as he mysteriously tightened and tinkered with random objects on an machine. However, given the common inaccuracy of stereotypes, I knew the day would be quite other from my expectations. Thus, with an open (albeit auto-body-impaired) perception I headed to Patty's Rod Shop (PRS) on Childhaven Road to meet my mechanic, Chris Edmondson.
Patty's opened in 2006 and offers a make of vehicle-related services. The shop not only accepts insurance claims but also restores and customizes cars for auto enthusiasts. Chris, who has been part of Patty's Rod Purchase for about a year, works primarily in the restoration side of the business.
