San Clemente police have arrested and charged two graffiti scrawlers, in part because of a Halloween art show at a restricted wine bar and coverage by San Clemente Patch.

Deputies David Pultz and Joe Kantar received an Orange County Sheriff's Turn on divisional commendation for the arrests and were honored by the city council Tuesday round-the-clock.

One of those arrested is a suspected vandal who goes by the name of Bandit, who paints singular skulls with Native American headdresses and bandanas covering their faces.

One of the suspects appeared in photos posted with Jackie Connor's October article for San Clemente Shred titled " Graffiti Artists Go Mainstream for a Night, " said San Clemente Guard Services Chief Lt. Paul D'Auria.
