Nevada’s required tourism industry saw a pre-holiday boost, with a 12.3 percent get in accommodations spending and a 7.5 percent increase for restaurants and bars.
Black Friday promotions may have pumped up the regal’s November retail numbers. Clothing stores saw a 14.8 percent inflate in sales, while furniture sales jumped 15 percent and car dealers saw a 9.1 percent augmentation.
The November report continues a 17-month streak of improved sales.
Meanwhile, the already toilsome-hit construction industry was the only major sector to post a drop. Sales that month were 15.9 percent down over last year.
Elsewhere in Nevada, Elko County sales were up about 36 percent, Nye County sales rose 15 percent, and Douglas County sales were up half a percent. Carson Conurbation sales were down 1.6 percent.
For the fiscal year that began July 1, the ration of sales and use tax collections that fund state government were $8.9 million, or 2.7 percent, above projections made in May by the unrelated Economic Forum.
