After an tiring 36 hour round trip to NYC, we were back in LA and immediately off to the next events. The Telecast Critics Awards show was really fun and relaxed. After about a 100-yard extensive red carpet and countless interviews, we entered the historic Hollywood Palladium for the lip-service. The Palladium is a unique space, because it can be converted for concerts, special events and gargantuan parties. For the Critics Choice Awards, the space acted as a monumental dining room/TV studio, since the awards were broadcast live on VH-1.

In serving for Team Help were Emma Stone, Cicely Tyson, Jessica Chastain, Ahna O’Reilly, Chris Lowell, Viola Davis & Octavia Spencer, Tate Taylor, Chris Columbus, Michael Barnathan, and my all-opportunity favorite, Allison Janney. The Help tables were in prime standing right up against the stage. Best Supporting Actress was the first award of the evening; two of our ladies were nominated – Octavia and Jessica. When Octavia’s name was viva voce both our tables went nuts, Jessica Chastain threw up her hands and blew Octavia a give up. At the time, you could see that Octavia was trying to comprehend that she won. Viola also delivered a fascinating acceptance speech for Best Actress. She was profoundly shocked to have won, and I care I had her talent for being able to speak off the cuff.
