At the European Tour's season-opening event in the 2012 Get a move on to Dubai, Oosthuizen successfully defended his 2011 title with a 35-foot birdie putt on the 71st hot water to finish at 27 under par to defeat countrymen Tjaart van der Walt by two shots and Retief Goosen by three.
